ABOUT THE ARTIST
Michelle Valentine
|
"My work invites viewers to
reflect upon their life,
which may in turn, enlighten them to the
importance
of simplifying their lives and their hearts."
Michelle Valentine |
"Michelle's Craft Show"
premiered on TV over 20 years ago, airing in over 8 major metropolitan
Detroit cities. The teen TV Host was a Martha Stewart of sort, offering
local viewers the opportunity
to learn to make their own floral door
wreaths, design creative flower arrangements using home-grown flowers,
and making beaded jewelry.
Michelle Valentine
grew into a more sophisticated style of art, which her
current gallery works are
of an analytical expressionist style, which directly reflects
her studies in Abnormal Psychology, Physiological Psychology, Human
Sexuality, Psychology of Adjustment, Social Behavior, and
Learning &
Memory. While pursuing her Bachelor of Arts degree in
Psychology at
Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, Michelle Valentine
grasped courses in Interior Design, Interior Studio, Textiles, and Black
& White Film.
Deciding between pursuing
a career in Psychology or Interior Design, she pursued - and was granted
- an
apprenticeship at the award-winning Hudson's Interior Design Studio,
learning
under ASID Interior Designers. Her senior year of
college, Hudson's direct competitor, Jacobson's Home Stores, hired her
as an Interior Designer. Within one year, Jacobson's Home Stores
presented Michelle Valentine a prestigious award
for her work. Soon afterward, the psychology-degreed Interior
Designer surprised colleagues, family and friends by announcing her
retirement from her Interior Design career to pursue a career in
Psychology.
Today, artistic endeavors remain in
Michelle Valentine's life on a business & professional level,
with works consistently purchased & commissioned by
residential & commercial clients.
While much of Michelle Valentine's gallery work is is black & white abstract expressionism, she uses
extensive color for more heart-warming effects in her wreath & floral
arrangements.
Michelle Valentine lectured and displayed her work for
the first time publicly, in the Orlando
Museum of Art.
She was also a featured Orange/Vision TV artist, reaching Florida
TV households. An exhibition of her works
at Steinway Hall/Steinway Galleries Orlando created the largest
attendance ever for Steinway Hall/Steinway Galleries.
Residing in
Florida, she is a listed artist with
the
Orange County Registry of Florida Artists, in association with
Orange County Government, Florida,
as well as The
Artists Registry, an international
network of
artists, galleries, museums and art organizations.
Michelle Valentine
travels around the world aboard cruise ships (Princess and
Royal Caribbean) lecturing and teaching about art.
